Empowered Fe Fes HostSpa
Day
On Friday, April 11, the Empowered Fe Fes held their first ever Spa Day at Access Living.
The girls offered many services for their customers, including massage, manicures, foot soaks, hair combing, and
facials. Nitrice from African American Women Evolving provided fragrance-free bath salts, cookies and
information about the Healthy Vagina Campaign.
The girls set up several stations for their visitors to sit down and enjoy their spa
services. While guests waited, they were treated to lemonade and snacks, and offered the opportunity to buy
a brand new Empowered Fe Fes T-shirt. The t-shirt is lavender and says:
empowerment means...
we are in control
power to do what we put our minds to
having the knowledge we need to make choices
standing up for what we believe in.
The Fe Fes hosted between 40 and 50 guests. They also had some spa raffle prizes and had lots of
help from volunteers. The effort was exhausting, but worth it! The girls practiced customer service
skills and event coordinating, and the guests got to have fun Fe Fe style!
