Paying for Medicine
Being able to pay for your health care needs is very
important. Some people may only need to be able to pay for cold medicine when they have a
cold. Other people need to pay for pills they have to take every day, or regular visits to the
doctor or therapist. If you're already paying rent, for groceries, transportation, and other bills,
how are you going to pay for health care too?
If you work at a full time job, it is likely that you have
health insurance that is supposed to cover your needs. Talk to the person who does human resources
to better understand your health care coverage. If you have just a part-time job or you live on SSI,
you have think carefully about how to pay for medicine.
In Chicago, there are some programs that may be able to
help you.
